Tickets are on sale for "Everyone's Christmas Story"!

Tickets are now on sale for "Everyone's Christmas Story"!

How do you tell an old story in a new way, especially when it’s the most important story of all?  That’s the problem facing a young writer who is trying to write the annual church Christmas play.  Bored by the same old manger and angels and shepherds, she tries to liven it by turning the humble and familiar characters into pop stars, superheroes, gangsters, and circus performers in her imagination.  She has loads of fun during this creative process, interacting with her jazzed-up versions of these characters.  Yet, as they play out the story in her bedroom, she starts to see things differently and comes to realize how amazing the Biblical account really is...just the way it is, was, and always will be.  She realizes it’s truly everyone’s story.

"Everyone's Christmas Story" December 10, 11, 12 (8 PM) and December 13 (2 PM).  The show is directed by Carey Lindner.  "Everyone's Christmas Story" stars:

The terrors of Halloween are soon approaching...

The Community Players of Hobbs are pleased to announce the 6th annual Haunted House. This year we feature two separate haunts for one low price-$10

"The Stalk Yards" breathes new life into an abandoned slaughterhouse. Upgraded technology and new scares will make this one of the best experiences to date.

"Fear The Dark" is pretty self explanatory... or is it? You'll have to face your fears and find out for yourself!

The haunt runs October 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, and 31 beginning at 8:00 each night.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.

Entrance to both haunts is included in the price of admission.

**SPECIAL DEAL**

For $20 you can buy an "Unlimited" ticket, and re-enter the haunt as many times (on the night you purchase it) as you like.  HOWEVER...you must still wait your turn in line (the spirits deal harshly with line-cutters!).  Come early and re-visit the haunts as much as you like for just $20!  The "Unlimited" ticket is good for the evening it is purchased ONLY!  (The spirits also deal harshly with those who attempt to reuse an expired ticket!)

Audition notice "Everyone's Christmas Story"

Auditions for "Everyone's Christmas Story" will be held on Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20 at 6:00 PM at Highland Middle School.

There are numerous roles for men and women ages 15 and up (the cast size is flexible).

Tickets are now on sale for "Shrek: The Musical, Jr."

Our 2015 Summer Youth Performing Arts Workshop production is "Shrek: The Musical, Jr."!

Set in a mythical “once upon a time” sort of land, Shrek the Musical is the story of a hulking green ogre who, after being mocked and feared his entire life by anything that crosses his path, retreats to an ugly green swamp to exist in happy isolation. Suddenly, a gang of homeless fairy-tale characters (Pinocchio, Cinderella, the Three Pigs, you name it) raid his sanctuary, saying they’ve been evicted by the vertically challenged Lord Farquaad. So Shrek strikes a deal: I’ll get your homes back, if you give me my home back!

But when Shrek and Farquaad meet, the Lord strikes a deal of his own: He’ll give the fairy-tale characters their homes back, if Shrek rescues Princess Fiona.

Shrek obliges, yet finds something appealing–something strange and different–about this pretty princess. He likes her. A lot. But why does she always run off when the sun sets?

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online (http://www.communityplayersofhobbs.com) or at the door.

Tickets now on sale for "Avenue Q"!

Tickets are now on sale for "Avenue Q"!

Please note "Avenue Q" is intended for mature audiences.

Come see this hilarious musical, with all it's puppet craziness!

“Avenue Q” is an American musical by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx (music and lyrics), with the book by Jeff Whitty.

''Avenue Q'' is an "autobiographical and biographical" coming-of-age parable, addressing and satirizing the issues and anxieties associated with entering adulthood. Its characters lament that as children, they were assured by their parents (and by children's television programs, such as PBS’s “Sesame Street”) that they were "special" and "could do anything"; but as adults, they have discovered to their surprise and dismay that in the real world their options are limited, and they are no more "special" than anyone else.

“Avenue Q” is notable for the use of puppets, animated by unconcealed puppeteers, alongside human actors.

The Playhouse production is directed by Juston Harlin (“Jekyll & Hyde”, “Urinetown”, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change”, “Beauty and the Beast”).

Show dates are June 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 (8 PM) and June 7 and 14 (2 PM).  Tickets are $15 and may be purchased in advance by visiting our website and clicking the box office ticket icon on the left.
