News update from the President

To All Playhouse Patrons:

It's hard to believe that November is already well underway!  This has been a very productive year so far, yet, still so much is coming.  So let's not forget that our next production, "Line" by Israel Horowitz, directed by Jonathan Bertschinger, will open Thursday, November 15 at 8:00 PM, with other performances on Friday, and Saturday also at 8 PM and Sunday, November 18th at 2:00 PM.  The best part is that this production is TOTALLY FREE as a thank you for supporting our playhouse for 75 years!  It's first come, first served.  So, to get the seating you want, be early. Hope you can join us for this hilarious comedy.

Auditions for "A Doll's House" (our 2013 AACTFest entry) directed by Nathan R. Miles will be on November 30 and December 1 at 7 PM at the Playhouse.  So all those who are interested should arrive early to fill out paperwork.  The auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.  First rehearsal (cast orientation and first read) will be on Sunday, December 2nd.  Hope to see lots of new faces and, of course, the faithful.

Final show of the year, "The One and Only Santa Claus" performed by the Hobbs High School drama classes, directed by Summer Rickman, and "A Christmas Carol" performed by the Community Players of Hobbs and Accidental Harmony, directed by Nathan R. Miles, is already in rehearsal.  Performances will be December 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th, 15th (7 PM), and December 15th (2 PM).  Tickets will be online soon through Tickets to the City.  It's a fun-filled Christmas adventure and tradition achieved by combining the two entities.  Six opportunities to see it, and you don't want to miss it!

A new year is just around the corner!  We mustn't forget to start making plans for the Annual Community Players of Hobbs Gala  (information and date later).  Have a memory filled Christmas with friends and family.....aaand a Happy New Year!

Your "I love the hectic holiday season (sort of)" president,

Sandy Goad
