The Greatest Opponent
What was Stephen doing before heading to wait in line? Seems he had a very tough chess opponent that morning...
Come see "Line", November 15th, 16th, 17th (8 PM), 18th (2 PM). http://www.communityplayersofhobbs.com
Christmas production news!
This year, we will have a special treat...in addition to Summer Rickman's students from Hobbs High returning for another Christmas performance, the Playhouse will stage a production of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol".
Summer Rickman will be directing "The One and Only Santa Claus" by Pat Cook. Students from the Hobbs High School drama classes will open the evening's entertainment with this show. Summer has previously been seen at the Playhouse in "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" and "Steel Magnolias", and in NMJC's "Murder Room", and has directed her students in two previous Christmas productions at the Playhouse, as well as Hobbs High productions of "Bye Bye Birdie" and "Guys and Dolls".
"A Christmas Carol" will be directed by Nathan R. Miles, who earlier this season directed the hit show "Fiddler on the Roof", and has previously directed "Rabbit Hole", "All My Sons", and AACTFest 2011 Runner Up "Zoo Story". Nathan has recently appeared in "Urinetown - The Musical" and will be seen again on the Playhouse stage in November's production of "Line".
And what Christmas production would be complete without the joyous caroling of "Accidental Harmony", Hobbs' own a capella singing group. "Accidental Harmony" features Playhouse regulars Kristen Hester, Daniella Mendez, Ronnie Gray, Juston Harlin, Sandy Goad, and Erin Anderson. They have been entertaining audiences in the Hobbs area since 2009, and are always an audience favorite.

Audition notice "A Christmas Carol"
Auditions will consist of cold readings. We're looking to cast multiple ages.
Oh, you didn't realize we were staging a production of "A Christmas Carol"? Yes, this December 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th, 15th (7 PM), and December 15th (2 PM), we will have a "double feature" Christmas production. The first feature will be Hobbs High School's drama students (directed by Summer Rickman) in a production of "The One And Only Santa Claus". Following an intermission with carols by the a capella group "Accidental Harmony", we will have "A Christmas Carol" directed by Nathan R. Miles.
Look for more Christmas production news soon. But don't forget the auditions, Thursday, October 4th and Saturday, October 6th (7 PM for both auditions)!
