Biographies 

Megan Anderson (Janet Burgess) is the daughter of Leonard and Mary Margaret Anderson. She is a 14 yr old freshman at Hobbs Freshman High School. Her past productions at the Playhouse include “Annie Jr.” and “The Invisible Dragon.” Her hobbies include singing, drawing, and visiting with friends.

Ash Baer (Emily Burgess) is a full-time college student at New Mexico Junior College, majoring in Elementary Education. She is 23 years old, and has been in love with the theatre for as long as she can remember. Her most recent shows were "A Company of Wayward Saints," this summer at the Playhouse, and "Proof" in spring 2007 at New Mexico Junior College. She dedicates her performance to her wonderful fiancé, David Lasater, and her parents, David Baer of Odessa and Deanna and Joe Stephens of Midland. Her hobbies include a love of crochet that has kept her fingers flying all year long, spending as much time as possible with her precious pets, and doing everything she can to help stray animals find loving forever homes.

Mason Ball (Dr. Tom Burgess) is a local real estate salesman with Donnie Roberts Realtors. His lovely wife’s name is Julia. Past performances include Persephone and some teaching and preaching. His hobbies are motorcycling, ping pong, Frisbee, and ‘fixin stuff.’ This is his first production at the Playhouse.

Laura Brewster (Mrs. Margaret Burgess) wears many hats; she is a children’s pastor at Crosswinds (Lovington), a music teacher with Noah’s Ark Preschool and a homeschooling mom as well! She is happily married to Glen Brewster and has 3 boys – Nick, Tim and Casey. She is no stranger to productions being in “A Christmas Carol,” “It All Happened In the Country,” and “Word on the Street,” to name a few. Her hobbies include reading, sewing and writing.

Marissa Davis (Julie Burgess) is a sophomore at Hobbs High School. She is the daughter of Jimmy Davis & Stacey Davis and has two brothers; Stratton and Dawson. Her past performances include “Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” “Little Town of Christmas” and “Wizard of Oz” – all at the Playhouse. Talents listed are her comedic side, running, dancing and texting! Hobbies include school, hanging out with friends and eating.

Juston Harlin (Johnny Burgess) recently returned home to Hobbs from San Diego, CA. He attended San Diego State University where he received an MFA in musical theatre and also taught. While in California, Juston performed at several regional theatres in such shows as: “Yank!;” “Tick, Tick…Boom!;” “Guys and Dolls;” “Me and My Girl;” “The Stones;” “Ragtime;” “Big River;” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Das Barbec√ľ.” At SDSU: “The People Vs Mona” (a somewhat “sequel” to “Pump Boys & Dinettes”); “A Man of No Importance;” “Batboy;” and “Brownstone.” Other shows: “My Way: A Tribute to Sinatra;” “A Little Night Music;” “Cosi fan tutte;” “Into the Woods;” “Kiss Me Kate;” “Texas;” “Children of Eden;” “Trial By Jury;” “The Fantasticks;” and “The Boyfriend.” He has also worked for many years as a theatre house manager. Juston and his father, Larry Harlin, are set to direct “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” next year here at the Playhouse.

Myranda Madril (Julie Burgess) is a 14 yr old freshman at Hobbs Freshman High School and the daughter of Johnny and Lucy Madril. She also plays sister to Tristan. . Myranda’s past performances include “Annie Jr,” “Grease,” and “Partridge in a Pear Tree” at the Playhouse. Her hobbies include singing, singing and more singing

Jesse Miller (Ralph Weatherly) is a junior at Hobbs High School. He is the son of Richard and Cristi Miller. Past productions include “Soap Opera” at Hobbs High School and “Beyond Therapy” at New Mexico Junior College. Hobbies include playing guitar, cooking and singing-ish.

Briana Schneider (Emily Burgess) is a junior at Hobbs High School and is the daughter of Lavada Kirk. She also plays older sister to Jocelyn and Toby Kirk. Her past productions include “Annie Jr.,” “A Company of Wayward Saints,” “Grease,” “A Christmas Carol,” “Monsters in the Closet,” all at the Playhouse and “Murder Room,” “Beyond Therapy” at New Mexico Junior College and “Soap Opera” with the Hobbs High School. She has also worked in many different back stage positions. Her other interests include HHS A Capella Choir, a member of the honor society, Accidental Harmony, and NMJC Drama Club.

Sidne Smith (Janet Burgess) is a freshman at Hobbs Freshman High School and is the daughter of Wayne Smith and Shelly Smith. And has two sisters, Kelli and Jinsen. Sidne’s past productions include “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” “ The Little Town of Christmas,” and “Partridge in a Pear Tree.” Her hobbies include playing basketball and babysitting.

Robert Schumacher (Dr. Tom Burgess) has lived in Hobbs since relocating from Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, in July 2007. A 16-year veteran of the U.S. Navy submarine force, he works at URENCO in the Electrical/I&C Maintenance Department. He and his wife, Jane, have one daughter, Kinsey, whose performance in “Grease’ in 2008 inspired her father to audition for “A Company of Wayward Saints.” This is his second production.

Jason Taylor (Johnny Burgess) is a 23 yr old student at NMJC and is the son of Rhonda & Shawn Taylor. His past productions include “Lion in Winter”. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, traveling and learning. His is also a professional athlete at the age of 19 with the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) and has training in MMA (mixed martial arts) practice.

Karen Widman (Mrs. Margaret Burgess) is a homemaker and a volunteer with the public schools in Hobbs. She is wife to Ed Widman and mother to Chelsea Widman and Sean Shockey (who is currently serving in the US Army in Afghanistan). Her past productions include “Rabbit Hole” at the Playhouse and “Playhouse Creatures” at New Mexico Junior College. She has also served in various backstage capacities from assistant director to stage managing. Her hobbies include arts and crafts, drawing and writing poetry.

Tristan Wint (Ralph Weatherly) is a freshman at HFHS and is the son of Amy Wint and Wade Dittrich. His past productions include “The Little Town of Christmas,” “Lion King,” “Jungle Book” and many others. He enjoys hanging out with friends, skating and music. He also plays drums, piano and guitar.
